Sibo Tian, MD, is a radiation oncologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. Education
Dr. Tian received his medical degree from Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He also received a Masters of Clinical and Translational Science during medical school. He completed internship and residency in Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. During training, he was a recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Conquer Foundation Merit Award at the 2018 annual meeting. Dr. Tian graduated from the University of Chicago with honors in Biological Science and Economics.
Research
Dr. Tian is actively involved with multiple areas of clinical research. His research interests include exploring ways to integrate radiation therapy and immunotherapy, proton therapy, and the use of big data to optimize the multi-disciplinary care of cancer patients. During his training he was principal investigator on a pilot study of functional imaging in the treatment of lung cancer. He is interested in developing clinical trials that investigate how technologic innovations and novel methods of radiation delivery can improve patient outcomes.
Publications
Dr. Tian has authored or co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed research articles, which have been published in a number of leading journals including Cancer, International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics, and JAMA Oncology. He has given oral presentations at national and international meetings. Dr. Tian has been a peer reviewer for Frontiers in Oncology, Clinical Lung Cancer, and Oral Oncology, among others.
