Please find answers to commonly asked questions below.

Why did GPCC file for Chapter 11?

GPCC filed for Chapter 11 protection on January 22, 2026. This is a legal process that allows an organization to continue operating while its financial obligations are restructured. The filing does not mean that the Center is closing – it is a process undertaken to ensure the Center’s long-term stability and continued commitment to deliver quality patient care.

Does Emory already own the Center?

No. Emory Healthcare does not currently own the Center. Emory has been the exclusive provider of patient care at the Center and is now seeking ownership of the Center’s assets through the Chapter 11 process.

Will my treatment be affected?

No, your treatment will not be impacted during the process. The Center will continue to operate as usual. Patient treatment will continue without interruption with the same team as before.

Will there be any changes to patient care during the process?

No. There will be no changes in your day-to-day experience at the Center. The Center will continue to operate as it has in the past. All teams and services will remain the same, and the Center will ensure patient care remains uninterrupted.

Will my doctors or treatment team change during the process?

No. Your doctor and treatment teams will not change during the process. Patients will continue to receive treatment as before.

Will my insurance or billing change as a result of the process?

No. Insurance or billing processes will remain the same. If any assistance or updates are required, we will notify patients as soon as possible.

Who can I contact if I have questions or concerns about my care?
