About the provider
Sujith Baliga, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Baliga specializes in the treatment of head and neck and base of skull cancers. He treats patients at Emory University Hospital Midtown and Emory Proton Therapy Center.
Education
Dr. Baliga received his medical degree with research distinction from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the Montefiore Medical Center and then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Proton Therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.
Research
Dr. Baliga’s area of interest is in head and neck cancers and particularly evaluating strategies to reduce toxicity and de-escalate radiotherapy in HPV associated oropharyngeal cancers.
Publications
Dr. Baliga has authored or co-authored over 70 research articles and has been a reviewer for the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics, Practical Radiation Oncology, Frontiers in Medicine, and JNCI Cancer Spectrum, where he is an associate editor.
