Emory Proton Therapy Center is the only proton therapy facility in Georgia and one of few in the southeastern United States. It combines the world’s most advanced radiation technologies and treatments for patients with specific cancers with the expertise of renowned specialists from Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. The radiation oncologists at the proton center are part of Winship’s sub-specialized teams who discover, develop and deliver some of the world’s most effective treatments for cancer patients.

The Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center for the state of Georgia. Among the nation’s 51 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers, Winship and other NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers—including MD Anderson, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Mayo Clinic—consistently deliver the best outcomes for cancer patients.
Emory Healthcare is the most extensive healthcare system in Georgia. It is made up of 11 hospitals, the Emory Clinic, and more than 250 provider locations. Emory Proton Therapy Center was founded in December of 2018 and has treated close to 2,000 patients with proton therapy in its five treatment bays since its inception.
